Rear Window has had a clear and direct influence in the development of the film Intruders. Rear Window‘s pace and timing were key in adapting the comic Jacov into a live-action short film.

Signs┬áis personally one of my favorite films. The film creates powerful tension throughout and proceeds to keep you at unease. This film was a great guide on how to great mood and tone – a fundamental aspect to the film Intruders.

Ju-on: The curse of one who dies in the grip of powerful rage. It gathers and takes effect in the places that person was alive. Those who encounter it die, and a new curse is born.

- JU-ON: The Grudge

Ju-on is a terrifying film. The original Japanese horror film is mysterious and haunting. It served as a great reference in creating tension in the more quiet chapters of the film.

Toshio Saeki, the small boy in the Ju-on film, was adapted into the film Intruders. Certainly a version of this character was. The notion of a ghost like presence in a abandoned home was key in the formation of the last chapter (Inspector).
